Motion + Couplant.. at Last ! HARFANG is proud to introduce its first portable motor control unit. Following the trend of the MP-1, motor and couplant pump have been integrated in a rugged casing to allow a flexible control of your instrumentation on the field. So many times are integrators dealing with a couplant pump as a separate item, the latter to be addressed at the end of the project…to finally discover it’s a hassle. The MP-2 is very good package deal: • Fully integrated in UTStudio • Variable speed couplant on demand • Galil standard interface What is the MP-2 ? The MP-2 is a stand-alone motor and couplant pump unit. As powerful as the MP-1, but integrated in rugged transportable casing. It’s meant to drive the sequence and power to one or two motors. The MP-2 also features an internal pump to feed liquid couplant to the search unit(s). The unit control is well integrated in our UTStudio software, but it can also be driven by third-party software using Galil® commands. The unit can drive immersion tanks, crawlers, scanners, robots, and most third-party scanners. Advantages of the MP-2 The MP-2 is a well integrated product that offers an amazing number of features: Precise positionning with PID feedback Enough motor power for most applications Rugged rackmount enclosure Front-panel manual controls Remotely controlable via Ethernet 10/100 Open to third-party using Galil© commands Seamless integration with UTStudio Couplant-on-time solution Technology The MP-2 unit can be controlled by a Ethernet 10/100 connection using TCP/IP, or using RS-232. You can even have acces to a network and the connection between the computer and the MP-2 can be wireless (WiFi). UTStudio-Pro can remotely drive the MP-2 as it’s nicely integrated in the user interface. But one can use the MP-2 in non-HARFANG systems, by using standard Galil command interface. The MP-2 proved excellent functionality with wheel scanners, from 5 to 125 mm/sec speed. The 2-axis 70W power interface can drive either DC servo motors, or stepper motor (option). And the user-selectable PID feedback values allow a precise positioning Controls The MP-2 is a stand-alone motor and couplant unit with direct manual controls conviently placed on the panel. The manual controls allow you to have the scanner go wherever you need to, software or not.
